Included as part of Make’s amazing, inspiring, often bizarre but always  entertaining monthly collection of cheap do-it-yourself projects is The Owner’s Manifesto: “If you can’t open it, you don’t own it: a Maker’s Bill of Rights to accessible, extensive, and repairable hardware” by Mister Jalopy. We wish we’d though of that and wholly endorse it! Make’s sister publication, Craft is also top notch, and a source for information on topics such as our Eco Tawashi.

Fallen Fruit
Our favorite Cheapskate in Los Angeles recommended this site, which is dedicated to supporting community gardens and only planting fruit-bearing trees in public parks, and publicly accessed private areas (such as parking lot landscaping). But what’s especially fun is that FALLEN FRUIT maps and alerts readers to free fruit, ripe for the pickin! You have nothing to lose but your hunger!

Many of our readers originally found us by way of this excellent blog. Widely read, this souce has a “Green” emphasis and active comment boards. In addition, there are convenient links other related blogs offering still more reading.
